Allow Good equips youth with the knowledge, skills, and capacity to take meaningful action in their communities. We inspire youth to become actively engaged in addressing social challenges throughout their lives. This addresses a pressing need facing our society - engaging youth in their communities to create a society of socially engaged citizens.
Our semester-long program takes high school youth through lessons in civic engagement, community histories, and the philanthropic grantmaking process. Students explore and research local community challenges, narrowing to a single topic of their choosing. The course culminates with each class directing a $1,000 grant to a community organization that they have evaluated.
Based in downtown Chicago, teens participate in hands-on learning experiences centered around philanthropy, social innovation, entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility. During this week-long experience, participants are inspired by leaders from local foundations, social purpose organizations, and corporations.
We extend beyond our borders by taking youth to engage with our international partners. Participants engage in hands-on learning opportunities, develop relationships with local organizations, and gain personal insight on a variety of topics in the social purpose field - including microfinance, entrepreneurship, and social businesses.
Allow Good partners with organizations and schools who are committed to advancing philanthropic education. Our curriculum offers organizations such as foundations, nonprofits, and schools the opportunity to tailor our suite of programs to their unique needs.
