ALLOW GOOD | NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY
In the fall of 2015, we approached students at Northwestern University about our Allow Good school-based initiative. The students we connected with had been inspired by a course they took at Northwestern called “Learning Philanthropy – Engage in the Study and Practice of Giving.” The class brings together students from across the university to learn about and discuss philanthropy, the grant making process, and what effective philanthropy looks like. The students were inspired by what they had learned and excited about the prospect of developing a smaller scale version of this class for high school students. They launched the Northwestern University chapter of Allow Good, and recruited their peers to teach in local high school classrooms.
